Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)

Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) is a mandatory Key Learning Area for all students from Kindergarten to Year 10 in New South Wales. In Years 7 to 10, students complete 300 hours of PDHPE as required by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).

PDHPE equips students with the knowledge, understanding, skills, and values needed to make informed decisions that enhance their health, safety, wellbeing, and physical activity. Students explore contemporary health issues relevant to themselves and their communities while engaging in challenging and enjoyable physical activities that build movement competence, teamwork, and confidence.
